Gladys Berejiklian and Julie Bishop lead the star arrivals at Carla Zampatti fashion show

Gladys Berejiklian was caught in a downpour in Sydney on Wednesday evening when she stepped out for the Carla Zampatti fashion show. 

The former Premier of New South Wales, 52, looked elegant in royal purple suit with a crossed lapel and split sleeves.  

Ms Berejiklian accessorised her look with a pair of black pumps which paired beautifully with her $3,485 black Gucci handbag. 

As Ms Berejiklian ducked out of the car, her driver held open an umbrella to protect her sleek bob from the elements.

Flashing her gold bracelets, she ran across the damp pavement to the venue, instantly spotting some of her friends. 

She opted for a minimal makeup look for the evening of fashion as she slicked on some earthy red lipstick. 

Elsewhere, Julie Bishop looked sensational in a sleek Carla Zampatti frock in a midnight blue tone, which featured a large tulle ruffle on the left shoulder.

The former Minister for Foreign Affairs, 66, accessorised her look with towering black Aquazurra stilettos, worth an eye-watering $1,440, and a sequin clutch. 

Ms Bishop kept her makeup and hair chic for the event, allowing her impeccable taste to shine on the night.

Samantha Armytage was all smiles as she arrived on the arm of her husband Richard Lavender.

The 46-year-old television veteran looked stunning in her light khaki midi gown which featured split sleeves. 

Samantha completed her look with a pair of black pumps, and carried a black clutch under her arm. 

Meanwhile, Richard looked stylish in an always-fashionable navy suit.   

Other Australian celebrities in attendance included Christian Wilkins, fashionista and son to Weekend Today host Richard Wilkins. 

The 27-year-old carried on the purple dress code in a loose jumpsuit which showed off his incredibly toned arms. 

Hiding his shoes with the long pant legs, the blonde beauty strapped a silver clutch across his chest and accessorised with a simple silver pendant around his neck.  

Meanwhile, Seven’s Melissa Doyle showed up on the arm of her dear friend Nelson Aspen.

The former Sunrise host, 52, matched the entertainment reporter, 59, with a lacy black gown which sat off the shoulder. 

Her date of the evening protected her golden tresses from the rain with a white umbrella as he donned a handsome black suit and blue shirt-tie combo.  

Friends Laura Csortan and Anna Heinrich also showed up together with the 46-year-old model complementing her stunning looks in a beige pantsuit. 

The pair both stepped out in strappy heels as the lawyer, 36, who is married to The Bachelor’s Tom Robards, opted for a bold red look.

Csortan let her straight blonde locks fall free while Heinrich pulled hers back into a ponytail to show off her extravagant gold earrings.  

Lastly, Jules Robinson also went for a bold, bright red ensemble as she arrived wearing a belted frock. 

The Married At First Sight star, 39, looked gorgeous with her softly curled auburn hair and natural makeup. 

With gold bangles around her wrists, Robinson, who is still married to her MAFS husband Cameron Merchant, matched her nude handbag to her strappy nude heels.
