Probable England XI for Czech Republic clash as Grealish set to be handed start

Jack Grealish is set for his first start of the Euros against the Czech Republic at Wembley.

England boss Gareth Southgate has made changes to his line-up as he lost Mason Mount in the build-up after the Chelsea midfielder was forced to self isolate.

Aston Villa captain Grealish is now in the frame to play having declared himself “fit, ready and fearless” to play which will be a popular choice among supporters.

Southgate is also considering changing his front three having started Phil Foden in both the opening games in the Group against Croatia and Scotland.

That could mean a surprise choice with Arsenal ’s versatile Bukayo Saka which would be a curve ball because he was not even on the bench against Scotland while Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho are his other options.

Grealish is set to be handed a start

Harry Kane has already been told he will definitely start while Raheem Sterling is seen as crucial to England’s set-up for the campaign and has impressed in his first two games of the tournament.

The England fans have been calling for Grealish during games and he got a sensational reception when he came on against Scotland as a substitute.

Grealish had been struggling with a shin issue in the build-up to the Euros which he meant a large chunk of Villa’s run-in to the Premier league season.

That has also restricted him in training for England but the Villa midfielder – a summer target for Manchester City – has insisted that he is available and he is just having to manage his work load.

Now with the pressure off and England definitely qualified for the knock out stage, Southgate seems ready to pick him as they look for a performance to entertain the crowd and also clinch top spot in Group D.

Beating the Czech Republic would guarantee England staying at Wembley and that would be a huge boost even if it means a potentially hard game against Germany, France or Portugal.

Harry Maguire is set to come back in for England while Kyle Walker looks set to start at right back.

England probable: Pickford; Walker, Stones, Maguire, Shaw; Philips, Rice, Saka; Grealish, Sterling, Kane.
