Rangers vs Celtic: Old Firm derby preview

Celtic have been unseated as champions for the first time in a decade, with Rangers’ return to the top of Scottish football a bitter pill to swallow. Gerrard’s side have been relentless this season, winning 28 of their 32 League games as well as going unbeaten to race to the title.

While Rangers’ success will be tough for Celtic to take, Sunday’s Old Firm derby represents the perfect opportunity to make a statement ahead of next season – and also ensure their rivals don’t go unbeaten this term.

Rangers claim their fans are “fully aligned” with their stay-at-home messages, and the club held talks with groups on Tuesday morning amid the uncertainty. First Minister Nicola Sturgeon called for ongoing messages from both clubs before a final decision is taken in the coming days.
